  1. Designing receipt template

Hi! I am not 100% sure what you mean by "design (your) own receipt", but you can modify your receipt appearances in Basic Location Settings and Company Settings in the Control Panel. In Basic Location Settings, you can change what company information prints on your receipts. Each of the text fields are open, so you can enter whatever you like (or nothing at all). For more information about Basic Location Settings, click here. You can also add your company logo to your customer receipts by adding it to Company Settings. Click here for more information about adding your company logo. Please note, you need to have "Include company logo on receipts" enabled in the Printers / KDS section of the Control Panel. Always remember to Reload Settings in the Lavu App on all devices running Lavu in order for the changes to take effect. Let us know if you have more questions!
  2. Hello! Thank you for your question this morning. Lavu does not currently have a means of presenting a thousand's separator on the item price. However, I have submitted this to our Product Team for further exploration and potential implementation in the future. This is logged as FR7546. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
  3. Servers Down

Hello Everyone, We have been working on the issues our customers have been experiencing. Most, is not all, locations should be back up and running at this time. There was an issue with one of our three primary servers resulting in a loss of connection; we have successfully moved everyone off of that server to one of the other two. We are working to expedite necessary changes to prevent these types of issues in the future. I am closing this thread at this time, an official statement will be posted in the Control Panel shortly. Thank you.
  4. Hello Everyone, I wanted to start this thread to inform all of our customers and Specialists that the new Lavu Reports are now accessible to everyone. All you have to do is log into your Control Panel, navigate to Reports, and click the "Try our new reports" button. It is imperative that everyone knows that these reports are accurate, but are being actively worked on to improve the user interface and overall ease of use. If anyone spots any issues with the new reports or has suggestions, please post them in this thread and I will make sure the Lavu Development Team is made aware as soon as possible. You can also contact support by email at support@poslavu.com or by phone at 855-528-8457. I am looking forward to any constructive feedback and recommendations! Lucas L. General Manager
  5. IOS 8 problems

Hello Ruben, Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. For the best resolution time, please send an email to support@poslavu.com so that our Support Team may perform some troubleshooting and get the issue over to development. We continue to discourage people from updating to iOS 8 simply because of the number of issues with the iOS itself. There is not a way to rollback the iOS on a device, but if you have other devices not on iOS 8 then it would be beneficial for you to use those devices instead. Regardless, Support will likely be able to help you with this and, if not, our development team can explore what is happening and ensure there is a fix in an upcoming app update. Thank you.
  6. Paid In/Out on server summary

Hey Hunter, Thank you for the request, i have gone ahead and put in the feature request to our development team.
  7. Berg Liqour Control Integration

Hello Mikem, We here at Lavu are always interested to read about other products potential and current customers use. However, despite Berg Liquor Control System appearing to be a good addition to a future Lavu version, it is not currently something that can be worked into our development pipeline. I thank you for bringing them to our attention. Thank you.
  8. Hi Fredo, To be honest, I don't think this is currently in the pipeline; however I will add your recommendations as feature requests to our development team. There is no guarantee these functions will be picked up, but I will see what I can do. Thank you!
  9. iOS 8

Hi Zinque, We have not received any reports of issues with iOS 8 as of yet; however, we still caution people against updating given the current stability of iOS 7.1.2 and Lavu version 2.3.11. If you find yourself needing to update to iOS 8, we recommend that you only update one device to start. After a couple of days of use and testing it would then be feasible to update more devices. I feel we all would be happy to hear real-world evaluations of iOS 8 and 2.3.11 so please share here in the forums! Thank you!
  10. Tax included help

Hello mlarson, Thank you for your question! Are you using the latest version of the Lavu App (2.3.10, available now in the App Store)? If so, please do the following to eliminate your customer's confusion: In your Control Panel, navigate to Settings > Advanced Location Settings Scroll down to the Accounting Settings section Enable "Hide 'no tax' line when no tax applies to order (2.3.10+) Select "Always" from the "Display included tax breakdown on receipts" drop-down menu Click Submit at the bottom of the page Reload Settings on all devices The above process will result in your receipts having the tax breakdown without having the "Tax: 0.00" line. Could you please expand on what your reporting needs are? I am not completely grasping what you need in that regard. Thanks!
  11. Hello JC, I feel that it would be best if you emailed support@poslavu.com for assistance in this matter; we do not want to discuss account specific issues like this for privacy reasons. However, our support staff is fully capable of handling this type of question. Thanks!
  12. Hello Pilars! This is a valuable suggestion; as such, I have submitted a feature request to our development department to see about getting this added to a future version of Lavu (no guarantees, but I will do what I can to make this happen). In the meantime, I feel it would be prudent for your bartenders to tap the Open Orders button near the top right corner of the screen in the Lavu app if they know that an order was not cashed out right away. All open orders, regardless of their interface origin, will show up in this list. Please feel free to share any other recommendations you have to improve the Lavu system. Thank you!
  13. Infinea Tab from Mercury

Mobile Business Solutions, Thank you for sharing this valuable information! We all look forward to any further information you obtain!
  14. New Scheduling Feature w/ 2.1

Hi RBuzb, At the moment the system does not calculate the total projected hours a person will work. However, I have submitted a Feature Request in your name to push the issue to our development staff. Please feel free to share any other suggestions you may have! Thank you.
  15. Assigning an Menu Item Number

Hi! locomotion - Your recommendations are outstanding! I particularly like the idea of using an image of the dish with a number in a contrasting color. The Icon Maker will also work. Furthermore, as long as you display the Menu Item Name you can simply insert the number at the beginning of the name for easy recognition. For more information about the Menu Icon Generator follow the link below: https://support.lavu.com/hc/en-us/articles/200629454-How-do-I-use-the-MIG-Menu-Icon-Generator- Thank you!
  16. Customers emails

Hi Zinque! To download the email addresses entered at checkout please navigate to Reports > Special > Receipt Emails. From here you can export the list of email addresses in .txt, .xls, and .csv formats. Please let us know if you need any other help with this task. Thanks!
  17. Hello, Thank you for your questions and I apologize for the delay in my response. To activate this setting, please do the following: 1. Log into your Control Panel at admin.poslavu.com 2. Navigate to Settings > Advanced Location Settings and scroll down to the "User Settings" section. 3. Use the drop-down menu for "Access level for which to block PIN usage when user is clocked out (2.3.8+)" to select the minimum access level allowed to use their PIN without having to clock-in. 4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Submit". 5. Reload Settings on all of your devices. Be advised, you will need to have Lavu version 2.3.8 or above to use this setting. Thank you.
  18. Tips on split check

Hey Zinque, We don't have definitive release date for v2.3.7. The reason we don't give release dates (or even estimates) is because the development process is a complicated one with many pitfalls. The process of fixing, changing, or creating something in code is something that must be done very carefully to minimize the risk of affecting other functions, features, or settings. Furthermore, testing must be conducted (there is no way to accurately estimate how long this will take or what issues they may find that must be fixed prior to a release) and the app has to be submitted to Apple for approval to be released in the App Store (this process is also impossible to estimate as it may take 2 hours or 2 weeks). I hope that this additional information will help you (and others) to understand why we don't give estimates for app releases. With that being said, I do know that v2.3.7 is in testing now and further fixes are being implemented to ensure a solid update. However, I can't give you an honest, or accurate, estimate as to when it will be released. Thank you, Lucas L. General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  19. Tips on split check

Hello Zinque, This issue was reported to Lavu Support not too long ago and our Development Team is reporting that it is fixed in version 2.3.7 (planned release in the near future). I hope this helps! Thank you. Lucas L. General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  20. Infinea Tab from Mercury

Hi Jared, Thank you for your post on this issue; however, I do need to correct one major aspect of your comments. There is no setting, customer facing or otherwise, labeled "Only Mercury encrypted swipers" or anything similar. By default, the system requires encrypted swipers. Thus, if a swiper has been properly injected with the Mercury encryption it should be a plug and play setup. I am not denying that some customers have had issues with swipers (regardless of make or model), but the setting you quote does not exist. In most instances, we have found that resetting the Infinea Tab (pressing and holding both buttons on the top face of the swiper until the device beeps) resolves many issues during initial setup. Furthermore, ensuring that the swiper is fully charged (plugged in to the power source, not the iPad, for 8 hours immediately after removing from the box) prior to first use is a necessity. For those locations that choose to use a Gateway other than Mercury, unencrypted swipers may be used (for the time being and dependent on the Gateway). For example, TGate currently allows for unencrypted Infinea Tabs; however, since the system is looking for an encryption key of some kind by default Lavu Support has to activate a setting that bypasses the otherwise necessary encryption. Since we are speaking of Mercury and their encrypted Infinea Tabs, this setting is irrelevant for this conversation. On the note of encryption, in the future we will be discontinuing our support for unencrypted credit card swipers of any kind. This timeline has not been set in stone as of yet, but it is information we are getting out to Specialists and customers piece by piece. I am happy to speak on behalf of Lavu and what we can and cannot do or what settings we actually have; I welcome any other questions. Thank You. Lucas L. General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  21. What is KDS Lavu?

Hey Buckeye, To help out, we have uploaded a set-up guid to the Knowledge Base: https://support.lavu.com/hc/en-us/articles/202402020 Don't hesitate to contact Lavu Support if you need any help. Thanks! Lucas L General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  22. What is KDS Lavu?

Hey Buckeye, I have spoken with our support and development team concerning your list of hardware you intend to use, please see below for the information they provided: The resolution MUST BE 1080p or higher! Any other resolution will not work properly with KDS Pro. This applies to any display being used for any reason in conjunction with the KDS Pro. The HDMI splitter has not been tested and we did not originally design the KDS Pro to function in this manner; however, we do not see any reason for this to not work but we will be unable to help support such a set-up. Overall, the Lavu team believes this setup will work as long as you up the resolution of the screens to 1080p or above. The KDS Pro is really a plug and play piece of equipment. Thanks, Lucas L. General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  23. Infinea Tab from Mercury

Hello Everyone! Let me see about responding to each of you in this one post: Pizzaiolo: The Infinea Tab and Linea Pro swipers for Mercury can be purchased from JR's POS Depot (www.jrposdepo.com). This is the company that Mercury has chosen to provide these swipers. It may be beneficial for you to contact Mercury to express your displeasure over having to go through a third-party. BayleysLobsterPound: I have looked into your account and I see that your Specialist has tried the encrypted and unencrypted versions of the swiper in an attempt to get them to work. Mercury requires a Mercury encryption key. You may want to verify with your Specialist that the proper encrypted swipers were being used. You can also contact Infinite Peripherals for further assistance (http://ipcprint.com/support/support-form.html) Zinque: I have also looked into your accounts and see that you have contacted our support team about not being able to swipe cards while charging the swiper/iPad. This issue was resolved in the latest version (2.3.6). If you are still experiencing these issues, please contact our support team and / or Infinite Peripherals for further exploration of the issue. We were made aware of an issue where the credit card symbol is grey and cards may or may not go through to the gateways. This issue is resolved in the upcoming version (2.3.7). Thank You, Lucas L General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  24. Tax Exemption

Hello Steve, Thank you for posting your question in the Lavu forums! Setting up a Tax Exemption is very simple, but does have two stages prior to it being available to apply to an order. Before I get into the set-up, it is important to know that the Tax Exemption feature only works for entire orders, not individual items. So, the first step is to allow for Tax Exempt orders by navigating to Settings > Advanced Location Settings, scroll down to "Accounting Settings" and enable the setting called Allow Tax Exempt Orders. Once this setting has been enabled, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit. For additional information about Advanced Location Settings - Accounting Settings see the link below: https://support.lavu.com/hc/en-us/articles/200015359-Section-4-3-1-Advanced-Location-Settings-Accounting-Settings Next, navigate to Settings > Tax Exemptions. Follow the steps in the link below to create Tax Exemptions. https://support.lavu.com/hc/en-us/articles/200015409-Section-5-7-Tax-Exemptions Once these two actions have occurred and saved, Reload Settings on the Frontend on each device. Finally, to apply a Tax Exemption to an order, perform the following steps: Create an order Take the order to checkout Tap the Lavu icon in the top left corner of the screen Tap "Tax Exempt" Follow the prompts on the screen If you have any other questions please let us know or contact support via email at support@poslavu.com. Thank You, Lucas L. General Manager | Lavu Inc.
  25. Hello JC, Thank you for your post regarding images and Forced Modifiers. The image related to Forced Modifiers is currently designated only for the Pizza module of Lavu POS. At this time, there is not a way to upload images for Forced Modifiers nor is there a way to edit the current default Pizza module images. These are features we are hoping to implement in the future, but there is not an established timeline for that functionality. Thank you, Lucas L. General Manager
