  1. Modifier Groups (Forced & Optional)

    I would love to have the option to do alphabetical order on modifiers just like we have on the main menu items. It would be nice to be able to select happy hour pricing on each individual modifier. We have the ability to apply happy hours to modifiers as a whole but being able to select individual modifier items and apply different happy hours would be very helpful. Charlie
  2. Bug Report For Lavu Gift

    I agree with Di Yu on all points. We did a gift card test sale of $50 and $10 on a gift card but voided the $10 prior to the collection of the money. The current process loads the gift card prior to any cash receipt/payment so $50 was loaded on the card then $10 was loaded on the card for a total of $60 on the card. $10 was then removed from the sale prior to saving the transaction leaving a ticket of $50 to collect. We then paid the outstanding check with the gift card reducing the gift card from $60 to $10 and the bill was completely paid. This was due in part to the process of loading the gift card prior to payment of the check. If the process could be reversed and the card be loaded after payment would alleviate this issue. Possibly with print receipt and then load gift card after the collection of the payment for the gift card. The receipt and back end action log (old reports) did not show the $10 in the system. It showed a sale of $50 the payment of $50 but no $10 transaction as it was removed before the ticket was saved, but the card was loaded with $60 value and had $10 remaining after all of the steps above were performed even though the $10 was never actually sold, reported or collected. In addition I don't see a way to check the balance on a gift card on the iPad without going through the checkout process. Being able to select a menu option and swipe a gift card or enter the number and have it show the remaining balance would be nice. I think the work you are doing on this is great but there are a few adjustments that could be made to remove the risk of using Lavus in system gift cards.     We have learned many things about lavu and the bar setup in the system. What we have done may not be the best but it works for us. You may find like we did that using optional and forced modifiers will be your best bet for some situations. Take a martini for starters. In order to get the upcharge for a premium liquor we use forced modifiers. So if the bartender enters martini they have to choose the alcohol that was used. Skyy is our rail so there is no upcharge for the rail but if Goose or another premium is used the upcharge is added to the base cost of the Martini by the addition of the forced modifier selection. This allows you to capture the revenue that would be lost otherwise by just selling a Martini without having to have multiple basic Martini's on your selection screen. Doubles are another issue that we have had to figure out a solution for. For doubles we work those with a button labeled Double with a base price that fits our lowest drink cost and do a forced modifier for each liquor that we sell as a double that modifies the cost of the drink to a double price and puts the name of the liquor on the check. I hope those descriptions make sense. We Track our liquor sales and food sales separately using supper groups so at audit time it is very easy to separate the different sales types. If you go this route just be sure to put your sodas and other non alcoholic items under food not under liquor so you sales do not get skewed towards alcohol unnecessarily.     Has there been any progress on being able to move a split check say Check 2 off onto its own tab. There are instances that this feature would be extremely helpful. I see the split by seat and some other items in this thread have been addressed but the split off of a check to its own tab has not been addressed as far as i can tell in the system. Please give us an update.
  8. Thank you We have found the orders under the Open Order tab but it would be much nicer if they were converted to tabs on the main screen so the servers would not enter a duplicated check. I appreciate you putting in the request. Charles Martini MacGyver

We would like to see a feature added to the quick serve button that forces the user to accept a payment for a quick serve ticket or be forced to convert the quick serve to a ticket it they are not going to receive payment immediately. Currently if the quick serve feature is utilized and the ticket is saved/server exits rather than cashed out immediately it does not show on the open ticket screen in tab mode. This has caused tickets to be either lost or re entered but items may be lost if the bartender or server does not remember everything that was on the original ticket. If the server was forced to convert the Quick Serve ticket to a tab/ticket if they are not going to cash it out immediately that would keep the ticket in view on the tab screen rather than having to look in the all open orders area which takes extra steps.

    I have just started using the new Button customize feature in Lavu. Love the ability to customize the buttons within Lavu. Thanks Requests. Ability to Edit a button previously created without having to completely recreate. Additional color options or custom pallet selector I have used every color option currently available and need more. Ability to set a default scheme for a category, (blue with two lines) etc for shorter input times. Option to put a boarder around a black button for delineation. Separate the Hide Category and Item Titles in Advanced Location Settings, Order Options. So you could Select to Hide Category and Leave Item on or vice versa. Thanks again for this feature. We have the same problem as the first post but we are not as interested in the "another round" solution (sorry eckenroed, I read your post you suggested above and that is not the solution we are looking for). Customers do not always want another round but frequently do re order the same item. Being able to add to a saved order by incrementing that item up, but not delete at a lower than administrator level would be wonderful. We have implemented the access levels to avoid the pitfalls of letting staff remove items without management knowing. But in implementing this we have cause alot of wasted time due to the lack of ability to increase the qty of items already ordered and saved. Please look and see if there is a way to split the increase and remove ability so we could control each individually or just give the ability to add items that have already been saved regardless of security level.   13. The other thread on Cash Reconciliation got hijacked to Heartland so starting a new one. (admin if you could change the other thread title to Heartland that would be great) I have been having issues with cash reconciliation and wanted to get some answers to what i think is happening. 1. It looks like you can not run tills per register only a single total till at this time, is this correct. If this is correct this answers a lot of questions. 2. If the assumption in #1 is correct then the till feature does not do us much good since we run multiple cash drawers and need to track the cash in each one separately. Is it possible to track drawers independently? 3. It would be necessary to have each till track the user transactions that are associated with that cash drawer so reconciliation of each drawer would balance. If each device associated with a drawer would be tied to that drawer then reconciliation would be possible. (hope this makes sense) Background: Currently when we put in a till it shows what device name entered the till online and it shows up on the till report correctly. If we go to another ipad and enter another till in for another cash drawer it also shows up on the report on the ipad but not on the online system. Doing this seems to close the first till automatically. Still confused by what is actually happening but love the idea and would love to see this developed further. It looks like I have no option to till multiple drawers, if multiple drawer tills were possible then we would be able to track tills by device and drawer to better identify where any problems were rather than having to dig into each drawer in detail to find where a short or overage came from. Does anybody use this feature and what do you like about it? Are there any work arounds for what we are trying to accomplish?
  14. I understand cash reconciliation won't be working right until the next release 2.2 is the Happy Hour feature in 2.2. If so will the Happy Hour feature be applied to all items or will you be able to select individual items or groups to apply Happy Hour to. Like if i want to have drink specials but not discount food will i be able to do that with the Happy Hour feature?
