Using a single physical printer to print customer receipt and kitchen dockets

Question

Hi,

We are looking to move over to Luvo from vend and have found that our current printers aren't supported. before we purchase new printers I was wondering if it is possible to use a single physical printer for printing both customer receipts and kitchen tickets.

For example:
Our first printer will be located in the front of house area of the cafe and needs to be able to print customer receipts, drinks station dockets and snacks station dockets.

Our second printer will be located in the kitchen and only needs to print food dockets.

I found the following post about virtual printers:

I was wondering if the following setup would work:
Setting,     Name,                   IP
receipt,     Receipt printer,    192.168.1.101
kitchen,    Snacks Station,   192.168.1.101
kitchen2,  Drinks Station,     192.168.1.101
kitchen3,  Food Station,       192.168.1.102
Where 192.168.1.101 is the IP address for the printer in the front of house and 192.168.1.102 is the address for the printer in the kitchen area.

Cheers,

Mik

Hello,

While this is not something we officially recommend, we have many customers who do this without a problem.

I do highly recommend that if you are going to do this (and even if you aren't) that you use an Epson printer.

Thanks,

Rafael
